100D PA Ripstop
An extremely light polyamide fabric with a marked honeycomb structure. This 100 denier fabric is used in our seriously weight-reduced backpacks, the 210 denier version in the bike backpacks. The reinforcement yarns woven into the honeycomb structure increase the tear resistance and thus provide the thin textile with stability. PU coating inside.

  • > D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
  • > PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
  • > PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
  • > REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
  • > BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.

CONTACT SYSTEM

CONTACT SYSTEM
CONTACT
  • Body-hugging soft stripe pads follow movements and keep the load close to the body's center of gravity - essential for balance and stability. The channel between the pads provides extra comfort by creating a "chimney" effect ventilation.
  • The VariQuick system allows an easy, quick adjustment to the individual child’s back length and enables the pack to grow with them year after year.
  • Load adjustor straps on the shoulder straps serve to fine-tune the load according to the terrain.
  • Supple padded hip fins with pull forward adjustment distribute the load evenly and efficiently
Made without PFAS

Made without PFAS

This deuter product was manufactured by us without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals. This reduces the use of substances that are harmful to the environment and health.

PFAS is used, among other things, as a coating for rain protection, as they have water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.

Instead, deuter now uses DWR (Durable Water Repellency) impregnation, which is harmless to health and environmentally friendly.

Verarbeitet in gewohnter sehr guter Deuter Qualität. Road cycling with a backpack has a bad reputation - and rightly so... but certainly not with this backpack! It sits perfectly on your back, the size is just right for long to very long tours, or even the ride to work. Made in the usual very good Deuter quality. Aerodynamically, it certainly doesn't burn a single watt too many. So I'm super happy and would like to see more people with "road cycling backpacks".

The backpack is well-made. Its intended use: using a hydration pack with a reservoir capacity of more than 1.5 liters but less than 3 liters on gravel/road bike rides. So: 2L hydration bladder (Deuter v2) + glasses on the belt + DJI Action 5 on the belt + Sony a 6300/6500 with 50/85mm lens on the back + rain/wind jacket + merino T-shirt + debit/credit card and banknote + 2 bars + "mini care bag" (plasters + small toothbrush, 3 toothpaste bars, SeaToSummit Ultralight Towel "S"). Then the small backpack is completely full. (I also left the rain cover in the small pocket at the bottom of the backpack, but it can be omitted in dry conditions or used as a "dirty laundry compartment" at the bottom.) Verdict after three rides of approximately 60 and 80 km on roads and forest/field paths: The backpack can carry the above items well, even if a larger/sturdier one can do so more comfortably. (My Deuter TransAlpine 28+, for example) However, it has a significantly higher weight. It's comfortable for me. In my opinion, however, only with the 2L hydration bladder and then a maximum of a rain jacket and T-shirt, as well as a few bills. Anything else changes the "shape" or the carrying comfort. However, it "works" perfectly well even "full." However, I can't imagine 200km or more per day in this condition (and that's what it was primarily intended for with the hydration bladder plus a top tube bag, = a 2-3 day tour with minimal equipment). However, in my opinion, it's not a candidate intended as a hydration pack from the start. The hose routing, both internally and at the exit, and also externally, needs a lot of improvement. The drinking tube has no guide. You can definitely feel it directly in the shoulder strap, and then the tube dangles around wildly. With my own conversion/extension, it's fine. But a use that was primarily intended as a hydration pack doesn't meet my needs. There are significantly better and even lighter backpacks, but they don't have the flexibility of the Deuter to also use it as a pure transport backpack. If you're looking for a If you are looking for a lightweight all-rounder and do not want to use it as a hydration pack as your sole primary purpose, but only twice a year for a long tour, you will certainly be very satisfied with it.
